We won't leave
you in the dark.
Grab a Sparky is Jeff. One phone number, and the bloke who takes the call is the bloke who turns up and does the work. Air conditioning, fans, switchboards, lighting and anything that has stopped working, right across Innisfail and the Cassowary Coast.
You get Jeff.
Grab a Sparky is a one person operation out of Innisfail, and that is the whole point of it. There is no call centre, no rotating crew, and nobody turning up who has never seen the job before. You ring the number, Jeff answers, Jeff comes out.
In his own words, the business specialises in small electrical maintenance and air conditioning, bringing a personal touch and a commitment to customer satisfaction to every job. In practice that has stretched a fair way past small. There are switchboards, three phase mains gear, farm sheds, and a whole new home wired from scratch out in the rainforest.
What every single review says, in one form or another, is the same two things. He turns up quickly, and he leaves the place clean and tidy. For a trade that walks through your house with a drill, those two are worth more than any slogan.

Mains gear on a three phase board. The kind of work where nobody ever sees the inside of the cabinet again, which is exactly why it gets dressed in properly.
Homes, sheds and farms.
If it runs on power and it is somewhere around Innisfail, it is worth a call. Nothing here is too small to ask about.
Split system air conditioning
Supply and install, indoor head and outdoor unit, ducting run neat and clipped properly so it still looks tidy in five years of wet seasons.
Ceiling fans
New fans, and swapping out old rusted metal ones for modern DC fans. In his words, quieter, safer and smoother.
Switchboards
New boards, upgrades and rewired boards, from a house through to three phase mains gear. Labelled clearly so the next person knows what is what.
Lighting
Downlights, track lighting, feature pendants and outdoor up and down wall lights. Set out properly so a room lights the way it was meant to.
Fault finding
Lost power, a circuit that keeps tripping, something that has stopped working. Give Jeff a call and he will find it and sort it.
Rewires
Sheds, outbuildings and older wiring brought back up to scratch. Clean and tidy work, no matter how hot it is in the roof.
New builds
Full house wiring from rough in to fit off, working in with your builder so nothing gets missed and nothing holds the job up.
Farm and shed power
Power out to sheds and packing areas, weatherproof outlets, isolators and cable runs built for the gear that actually gets used out there.
Not sure whether it is a job for a sparky? Ring anyway. It costs nothing to describe what is going on and find out.

Anyone can make a finished room look good. These are the parts that get closed up and never looked at again, which is where you can actually tell.

New build, hidden
in the rainforest.
A whole home, wired from scratch, tucked into the wet tropics rainforest outside Innisfail. Every circuit, every fitting and every fan in these photos went in on this job.
It is a good example of what lighting actually does to a house. Up and down wall lights along the entry deck, a skylight and track run down the hallway, bell pendants over the island, cluster pendants in the bathroom, and a cage pendant in the pantry that throws a star across the wall. None of that happens by accident.
There is a big DC fan on the deck and split systems through the living areas, because up here that is not a luxury, it is how a house stays liveable in February.

Getting a room cool, and keeping it that way.
Split systems are half of what Jeff does, and in far north Queensland that is no surprise. Supply, install, and the outdoor unit sited and mounted where it can actually breathe rather than wherever was quickest.
Same story with fans. Swapping tired old metal bladed fans for modern DC fans is one of the cheapest upgrades in a house up here. Quieter, safer and smoother, which is how Jeff describes them himself.
Eleven reviews. Every one of them five stars.
“Jeff is a Meticulous, Efficient and Reliable Sparky. Jeff has completed two jobs for us thus far to a very high standard. The first being ceiling fans which were completed in a timely manner and at very short notice. Jeff was both professional and friendly and completed the tasks in a clean, tidy and efficient manner. The second being a rewire of our shed which was a clean, neat and tidy job in horrendously hot conditions which was not a bother to Jeff. Jeff is now my go to Sparky and I couldn't highly recommend him enough. Well done Jeff it is a pleasure and honour to have you as our Sparky.”
